- Each new parcel be it 1 acre or 5, is not limited to 1 home per family but is now doubled. The new ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) laws that recently went into effect allow 10 new homes have the potential to be 20 new families.
- Adding this kind of building and development will have an extremely negative effect on the wildlife.
- The additional development is in direct conflict with the Scenic Road designation assigned to Shannon Road
- A large section of Shannon Road boarding this property is constantly falling apart and eroding. Attempts have been made to repair it but we believe the changing fault line is reeking havoc.
- Development on Shannon Road compounds the already high level of fire hazard and evacuation needs.
- The Town of Los Gatos will have the added burden of developing sewage, water and electrical power changes.
- The Schools of Los Gatos are already impacted and there is an additional burden of adding more families.
- Ever growing traffic is another concern as well as the additional driveways that will impact not only drivers but bicyclists as well.
- This particular stretch of Shannon is unique, it is an area that opens up to show the hillside without obstruction, additional homes next to Shannon will surely be detrimental to this view of the hillside and the natural beauty of wildlife we encounter regularly.
- Due to the slope density of this property the development of homes will not allow for a gracious setback from the road. This is a safety concern for drivers on the road as well as people and their homes. Not a year goes by without a vehicle or two going off the side of Shannon road-now they will go off the road onto a home or persons.
